The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James "Jimmy" Shumate can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Mr. Shumate was the best teacher ever. I took Advanced Calculus as an elective at The Univeristy of Tennessee and made an "A" in the class because of this brilliant man. He made calculus seem so easy. He was my favorite teacher. I am very blessed to have known him. He encouraged me to go to The University of Tennessee. I followed his advice and earned a bachelor's degree as well as a master's degree. I am thankful to Mr. Shumate for sharing his wealth of knowledge with us "Little Kiddies". He has impacted many lives and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace "Little Kiddie".
