Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Opal Irick can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Opal Izetta Raley Irick-age 96 of Maynardville, born June 21, 1920 passed away peacefully Monday, May 22, 2017 at Willow Ridge Center. She was a lifelong member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband of 63 years, Clayton Irick; parents, Dewey and Gladys Raley; brother, Gene Raley; daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Wayne Shoffner; son-in-law, Buck Cox; grandson, Donnie Cook; great-grandson, Tyler Beeler.

Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Edgar Cook, Knoxville; daughter, Lynda Cox, Maynardville; Myra and Jerry Beeler, Powell; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Dewey Raley, Jr. and Paul Raley. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 with funeral service to follow 7 p.m. Thursday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Fred Goodson, Rev. Dewey Raley, Jr. officiating with music by The Cedar Grove Singers. Interment 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, Oakland Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Friday. Pallbearers: Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers: Great-Grandsons.
