Obituary for George Ernest Bates


Mr. George Ernest Bates-age 60 of Luttrell passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, December 18, 2016 at his home. He was preceded in death by parents, Claude and Ella Mae Bates; his loving brother, Archie Bates.

Survivors: wife, Bonnie Sue Bates of Luttrell; daughters, Jessica Taylor of Luttrell; Candace Bates of Ohio. Special nephew, Timmy Loveday of Washburn. Brothers, Claude, Robert and J. D. Bates; sisters, Ruby Dunn and Rosemary Swaney; father-in-law, Charles Taylor of Washburn. Several special nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Pastor Kathy Chesney officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10 a.m. Thursday to proceed to Community Cemetery, Luttrell for interment at 11 a.m. Pallbearers: Tim Loveday, Jr., Ronnie Kitts, Mike Chamberlain, Jerry Ledford, Archie Bates, Cory Braden. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
