Obituary for John A, (Sonny) Shope Jr.
John A. (Sonny) Shope, Jr.-age 69 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord Monday evening, October 3, 2016 at Physicians Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors: wife, Darlene Shope, Maynardville; son, Jeffery Shope and wife, Kelly of Corryton; daughters, Mickey Shope Duncan and husband, Blake of Nashville; Renee Shope Day and husband, Josh of Maynardville; five step-children, Dusty Edmonds and wife, Jessie; Diane Blair; Katie Davis; Johnathan Davis; Wendy Davis; Seven grandchildren; special granddaughter, Jazmine Blair; one great-granddaughter. Sisters, Teresa Shope; Patsy Bailey and husband, Esco; Darlene Collins; brothers, Tommy Shope and A. G. Shope. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friend, Brian Beason.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Joe McCoy officiating. Interment 1 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016, Oak Grove Cemetery, Sharps Chapel. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 12 noon Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
