Obituary for Edith H. Kitts (Raley)


Edith H. (Raley) Kitts-age 94 of Maynardville answered the call of Jesus Friday morning, April 8, 2016 at U. T. Medical Center. She was a lifelong member of Hubbs Grove Missionary Baptist Church, also a member of The Hubbs Grove Homemakers Club and a special friend of the Silver Stichers.

Preceded in death by husband, Gray Kitts; son, Bob Kitts, Hollis Kitts; parents, H. I., Sr. and Dena Raley; sisters, Dorothy and Caroline Raley, Geneva Lay; brother, Raymond Lewis Raley. Survivors: daughter, Ann Fields and husband, Tom of Knoxville; sons, Joseph Harley (Joe) Kitts, Mike Kitts and wife, Sharon, all of Maynardville; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Kitts, Knoxville. Eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren. Sisters, Pauline Dyer of Maynardville; Maxine Monroe and husband, Jack; Betty Brooks; Christine Leach and husband, H. E., all of Knoxville; brothers, Dewey Raley of Knoxville; H. I. Raley, Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Maynardville. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5-7 P.M. Sunday, April 10. 2016 with funeral services to follow at 7 P.M. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Scott Thompson officiating with music by Hubbs Grove Singers. Interment 10 A.M. Monday, Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers, Tony Fields, David Fields, Doug Kitts, Jonathan Kitts, Kevin Suffridge, Tim Brooks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hubbs Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Glenn Coppock, 330 Hubbs Grove Road, Maynardville, Tennessee 37807. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
