Obituary for Gary Hurst
Gary Hurst, age 53, of Tazewell, was born October 25, 1965 and passed away December 3, 2018 at Claiborne Medical Center Hospital. He professed faith in God at an early age in November, 1981. He was a
member of Caney Valley American Christian Church.
Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Hurst; brother, David Hurst; sister, Denise Caudill (husband, Mike and son, Avery); special friend, Michael Swanner, all of Tazewell. Preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Hurst; maternal grandparents, Theodore and Mary Powell; paternal grandparents, Sam and Ella Mae Hurst.
Gary was a quiet man, but his quietness spoke volume around his family and friends. His smile would light up an entire room. He worked for England Upholstery in Tazewell and Shelby Williams in Morristown for several years before retiring to take care of his disabled mother. These fond memories of Gary will remain in th hearts of all his family and friends who love him very much and will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends 5-7 P.M. Thursday, December 6, 2018 with funeral services following at 7 P.M. Thursday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville, Tennessee Rev. Jerry Epperson and Rev. Tommy Russell
officiating. Singers will be the Epperson Family and Karen Mutter. Graveside service and interment 1 P.M. Friday, December 7th at Fairview Cemetery in New Tazewell. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 11:30 A.M. Friday to go in the funeral procession. Pallbearers will consist of family and friends.
