Obituary for Glen Edward Dyer

Glen E. Dyer-age 85 of Powder Springs went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. Glen loved Union County and served the second district for many years as Justice of the Peace, County Commissioner, Road Commissioner and Constable. He was currently serving as a member of the Union County Beer Board. Glen also enjoyed farming and attending auctions. Glen was a former co-owner of Darrell’s Auction. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Lola (Merritt) Dyer; brothers, Boyd Wayne Dyer and Bobby Dyer.

Survivors: loving wife of 54 years, Eloise Bates Dyer; sons, Darrell Dyer and wife, Christie; Dwight Dyer; granddaughter, Kelley Dyer Mink and husband, Bobby. Niece, Carol Osborne, nephew, Kent Dyer along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7:30 P.M. Thursday, September 27, 2018 with funeral services to follow at 7:30 P.M. Thursday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Bo Cansler officiating with music by The Narrow Way. Interment 11 A.M. Friday, September 28, 2018, Dyer Cemetery, Powder Springs. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 A.M. at the cemetery. Pallbearers: Paul Dyer, Bobby Mink, Randall Suffridge, Stan Hill, Robert Pendergrass, Albert Merritt. Honorary Pallbearers: Buddy Smith, Todd Muncey, Paul Hill, Kenny Hill, Raymond Buckner, Gary Lundy. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
