Lurtie Brewer-age 92 of Sharps Chapel went to Heaven Friday, September 21, 2018 at her home after battling an extensive illness. She is preceded in death by husband, Boyd Brewer; grandson, Billy Joe Turner; granddaughters, Connie Freeman, Maryann Cox; sons-in-law, Larry Cooper, Ray Martin and Bill Turner; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors: sons, Ralph (Juanita) Brewer, Jack Brewer; daughters, Juanita (Paris) Woods, Helen (Joe) Holloway, Kathy Turner, Alma Cooper, Janet Nipper; grandchildren, Carolyn Brewer, Johnny, Larry and Paul Turner, Ralph and Evan Cooper, Teresa Bays, Kim Ward, Darrell and Randall Woods, Amanda Hurst, Michelle Buckner; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. Three surviving sisters.

Funeral services 11 A.M. Monday, September 24, 2018, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Paris Woods officiating with music by the grandchildren. Interment will follow at Keck Cemetery, Sharps Chapel. Pallbearers: Evan, Ralph, Johnny, Randall, Paul, Larry, Darrell and Brandon. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 and 4-6 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
