Virgil D. Crawford-age 80 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was a retired employee of the Tennessee Department of Transportation and was a farmer. Virgil was a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Annie Crawford; sisters, Lucille Keck, Christine Taylor, Martha Monroe, Ruby Clay and Mary Lou Allen; brothers, Earl, Darrell, Ralph, Frank and Lee Roy Crawford; son-in-law, Boyce Brock.

He is survived by wife of 62 ½ years, Deanna Crawford; daughters, Glenda Brock, Brenda Sweet; grandson, Tyler Sweet; son-in-law, Danny Sweet; sister, Linda Nicley and husband, Rev. Richard Nicley; brothers, Elmer Crawford and Ivan Crawford; sister-in-law, Robin Crawford; brothers-in-law, Bob Taylor, Richard Allen, Jerry Bailey, Ray Bailey. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Saturday, September 8, 2018 with funeral service to follow at 8 P.M. Saturday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Richard Nicley, Rev. Jerry Savage officiating. Eulogy by Eldon Gouchenour. Music by Linda Nicley and Michelle Blankenship. Interment 12:30 P.M. Sunday, September 9, 2018, Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 12 Noon Sunday. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
