Obituary for Wayne Arlis Collins

Wayne Arlis Collins-age 86 of Sharps Chapel passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a member of Blazing Star Lodge #455 F. & A.M. Wayne served as a Union County Commissioner for over 29 years and other offices associated with the county. Preceded in death by son, Harold Wayne Collins; parents, Esco and Mossie (Keck) Collins; sisters, Patsy Dyke, Oralee Lytle, Ina Sharp; brothers, Isaac, Edward and Normal Collins.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Lorene Sharp Collins; daughter, Shirley (Randy) Dykes; sons, Steve (Ruby) Collins, Stanley (Renée) Collins; grandchildren, Tasha (Gary), Adam, Brandon (Cait Lyn), Cody, Keith and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Cedric, Cayden, Brylee, AdaLyn and Princeton. Sister, Bobbie Edwards and husband, J. R. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 with masonic service 7 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 presented by Blazing Star Lodge #455 F. & A.M. Funeral service to follow, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Gary Brown officiating with music by The Valley Boys and Cedric and Cayden Brown. Interment 2 P.M. Sunday, November 26, 2017, M. C. Keck Cemetery, New Tazewell. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to go in the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Mark Dyke, Tony England, Rex England, Todd England, Greg Summers, Eddie Summers, Jack Wheat, Larry Collins, Ronale Collins, Randy Collins, Mickel Collins, Danny Wayne Collins, Ricky Collins, Lanny Collins, Randy Summers, Garrett Johnson.
