Obituary for Curtis Fleenor

Curtis Fleenor
CURTIS BERT “CURTIE BERT” FLEENOR, 63 of Maynardville, TN formerly of Brandon, FL passed away unexpectedly & into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2018. He was born on September 16, 1954 in Louisville, KY, the firstborn son of Lawrence Bert Fleenor & Mary Jhalia Stewart who preceded him in death. A brother, Richard Scott also preceded him in death. His step-father whom he loved like a father, Francis Eggers, survives.
Curtis was a very talented residential & commercial painter. He had painted homes of some of South Tampa’s elite families. Later he began his career with Hillsborough County Facilities Mgt. until his retirement. Curtis loved the Lord Jesus; accepted Him as His Lord & Savior at an early age & would spent hours talking about the Lord while quoting many Bible scriptures & telling stories.
He was also a gifted Country music singer who loved BJ Thomas & Glenn Campbell’s gospel music. He spent a lot of time singing karaoke at different venues or at home for his family.
He was an avid fisherman & learned how to tie some of the fanciest knots & he made his own jigs. The SkyWay Bridge was his favorite place to fish & he spent many hours there with family & friends.
On April 5, 1974 he married the love of his life, Cindy Curry Fleenor, who survives. In the good times & bad, he pledged his love for his wife always & to anyone. He is also survived by his loving daughters, Kelley Aljumaily (Damon Ali) & Shanna Acres (Jeffrey); & his sons, Shawn Fleenor (Michelle) & Curtis(CJ) Fleenor Curry (Emily).
He had 12 grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Mikayla Walters(Marcus); Christian Fleenor; John(JC) & Destiny Fortner; Nicole, Jeffrey & Jason Acres; Hannah, Jeffrey, Briseis & Gabriella Aljumaily & Peter Fleenor.
Six great children that he was so proud of, Mylah & Carson Walters; Kaylarain & Lonnie Jace Fleenor & Audrie Quinn & Evelyn Fortner.
He has 5 surviving siblings, Debra Wood; Morgan Fleenor(Edna); Sandy Dentmon(Terry); Earl Oakes (Robin) & Terry Scott. He has an Aunt Norma & many cousins (Jan; Gilda; Randy; Michael & Aleisha) in Pennington Gap, VA that he dearly loved.
He is also survived by his very best friend who he considered a brother Robert (Bobby) Dumis. Most Sundays were spent watching Nascar Races or Chicago Cub Baseball with Bobby; Jeff & Dino. He will be sorely missed by them.
His rescue Jack Russell Terrier who he named “Honey Bun” will miss her Daddy too.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Florida.
Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
