Nellie "Reece"  Free (Hensley)
Nellie Dorethea (Reece) Free, age 64, of Powder Springs, formerly of Knoxville, went home to her Heavenly Father, Friday August 25, 2017, after a five month battle with cancer. She was an active member of United Missionary Baptist Church for 19 years. She was a true servant of the Lord. She had a very kind, loving, caring, and giving soul. She never met a stranger and, even in hard times, she always had a smile. She saw the good in everyone and looked past their faults. She gave to everyone she knew and loved them as her own. She was raising two of her grandsons and helping care for two other grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by loving husband, Larry Free; sons, Ricky Lynn Cole, Ronald Chase Cole and William David Rush III; parents, James Gene and Inez Hensley; brothers, Kevin and Roy Dan Hensley.

She is survived by children, Sandra Davis (James Moss), Tonya Webb (Travis Brogan), and William Reece Free; siblings, Karen (Perry) Corum, Lori (James) Cassidy, Dave (Mary) Davis, and Jim (Marie) Hensley; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, devoted former husband and friend, Richard Cole and special friend, Kenneth Tharp.

Funeral service 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Daniel Corum, Rev. Doyle Wolfenbarger officiating with music by Lisa Corum, Lisa Sexton and Becky Hopson. Interment will follow at Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery, Knoxville. Pallbearers: Jay Moss, D. J. Corum, Josh Corum, Zach Corum, Dalton Hensley, Travis Cassidy. The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, 220 Highway 61-E, Maynardville, TN 37807.
