Obituary for Jimmie Edward Haggard

Jimmie Edward Haggard-age 70 of Luttrell gained his heavenly wings Saturday morning, August 19, 2017. He was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. Jimmie served six years in the United States Navy. He had a great love for his country and a passion for the great outdoors. Anyone who knew Jimmie knew he loved to hunt, fish and being outside. He didn’t know a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand when able. Jimmie loved his wife, children and grandchildren unconditionally. He is preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Edna Haggard; brother, Everett Haggard; sister, Evelyn Haggard. Parents-in-law, Clarence and Ruby Harbin.

Jimmie is survived by his loving and caring wife of 43 years, Judy Harbin Haggard; Jimmie was and will always be the one and only love of her life. His baby girl, Cynthia Johns and son-in-law, Russell Johns who he loved like a son, his fishing, hunting and best buddy. One and only loving son, Anthony “George” Haggard; loving daughters, Deborah Wright and Julie Greige. Grandchildren, his pride and joy, Jeremiah Tharp, Brooklyn, William and Raven George, Tracy, Katlyn, Dylan and Jacob Johns, Kaelyn Costello, Brian Wright, T. J. Greige; great-grandchildren, Steven Greige and Eleanor Wright. Loving brother, Ken (Bud) Haggard and wife, Pat Loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Lance and Sharon Hutchison. Special niece and nephews who he loved dearly, Shawn (Rebecca) Hutchison, Wesley (Brianna) Hutchison, Dusty (Rhina) Harbin, Nikkie (Andy) Hacksworth. Very special friends, Rick and Ruth Curtiss. Jimmie loved all his fishing buddies here and in Alabama at Cowikee Resort, Euflua, Alabama along with his special fur buddy, Hank.

The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 with funeral service to follow at 8 P.M. Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Kevin Sexton officiating. Military graveside service 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 23, 2017, Haggard Family Cemetery, Luttrell conducted by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10 A.M. Wednesday to go in the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Jeremiah Tharp, Russell Johns, Glenn Hankins, Jimmy Stanford, Andy Hacksworth, Lance Hutchison, Rick Curtiss. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
