Paul Edward Branson-age 82 of Washburn, born October 27, 1934 in Beattyville, Kentucky passed away Monday evening, August 7, 2017 at his home. Paul professed his faith at an early age and was a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. Paul was a retired Foreman of Skilled Trades with General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. Following his retirement, Paul made his home in Washburn. Preceded in death by parents, Chester and Elvira (Couch) Branson; brothers, Roy and Doris Branson, James and Cathline Branson, Charles Branson, Chester Jr. and Virginia Branson; sisters, Marie and Floyd Cates, Ruth and Garland Moore.

Survived by his loving wife, Stelmo E. (Dalton) Branson; four daughters, Debra and Mike Searing, Clarkston, Michigan; Donna and Mike Throesch, Bristol, Indiana; Doris and Richard Curran, Washburn; Debbie and Sammie Fultz, Tazewell. 11 Grandchildren, Michael Throesch, Jr., Chad Gomez, Adam and Stochia Bailey, Dirk and Angela Morrison, David and Angela Gann, Chris and Olivia Bailey, Cynthia Gillis, Jason and Melissa Renner, Paul and Katrina Dziepak, Dan and Jessica Krug, Danielle Burt; 29 Great-Grandchildren; two Great-Great-Grandchildren. Brother, Wallace and Barb Branson, Lexington, Kentucky; sisters, Lois and Hubert Pugh; Alta and Ed Shultz, all of Maynardville; sister-in-law, Bertha Branson Riddle, Titusville, Florida. Many nieces and nephews. Paul is truly loved and will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Ricky Dalton officiating with music by Rev. Jerry, Carolyn and Mark Epperson. Military graveside service 1 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017, Fairview Cemetery, Luttrell conducted by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Michael Throesch, Jr., Adam Bailey, Eric Manning, Verlyn Dalton, Jason Renner, Chris Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers, Johnny Manning, Michael Jarnigan. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
