Obituary for Gary Danny Smith

Gary Danny Smith age 69 of Maynardville, formerly of Luttrell went to be with the Lord, Thursday evening, July 20, 2017 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith and a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star while serving in Nha Trang, South Vietnam with the 14th Security Police Squadron. Preceded in death by parents, Tivis and Lucy Smith; sisters, Ruby Donahue, Wilma Wolfe and Reba Householder Peterson; brothers, Toots, J. T. and Dickie Smith; nephew, Larry Smith, Darrell Donahue; niece, Patsy Griffey.

Survivors: sons, Shane (Meleaia) Smith, Christopher Smith; daughter, Kimberly Amara; step-son, Richard (Milisia) Quilan; grandsons, Adam Smith and Tobias Quilan; granddaughters, Cheyenne Amara, Talena Quilan; sisters, June Hill and Glenda (Dodie) Farrington. Several nieces and nephews. Special friends, Sharon Hodge, Dixie Gavin and Donna Smith.The family would like to express a special thanks to Covenant Hospice and SCHAS for their kindness and support during Gary's illness.

The family will receive friends 5-7 P.M. Sunday, July 23, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 7 P.M. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Rick Passmore, Rev. Brad Griffey officiating. Military graveside honors 2 P.M. Monday, July 24, 2017, Fairview Cemetery, Luttrell presented by Tri-County Veteran Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at 1 P.M. Monday at the funeral home to go in the funeral procession. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
