Obituary for Ruby Tharp Lay

Ruby Tharp Lay-age 66 of Sharps Chapel passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at home. She was a member of Taylor’s Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, William Elvin (Preach) Lay; parents, Everett and Gladys Tharp; brothers, James and Jim Tharp; sisters, Marilyn and Bessie Tharp.

Survivors: sons, Mitchell Lay, John Lay and Kristy Dykes; beloved friend, Kasey Dykes. Four grandchildren, Austin Lay, Derek Walter, Sydney Lay and Shawna Lay. Brothers, Johnny Tharp and David Tharp; sisters, Linda Kitts, Brenda Savage, Wanda Tharp, Bobbie Tharp, Jackie Powell. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 with memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. Monday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Greg Sharp, Rev. Tim Sharp officiating with music by Amanda Reno. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
