BESSIE M. JOHNSON

Bessie M. Johnson departed this life to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 8, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was a patient at Kindred Nursing in Knoxville, TN. She enjoyed working in her flowers, cooking, decorating in the house, but most important was her family, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by daughter, Elbra (Jodie) Davis of Sharps Chapel; son Tim Johnson & girlfriend Jana of Sharps Chapel; grandsons: Chris Upton of Sharps Chapel; Josh & Becky Davis of Morristown, TN.; Dustin & Alicia Johnson of Maynardville, Jeremy & Candice Johnson of Sharps Chapel. Great-grandchildren: Devyn, McKayla, Nathan & Jocelyn Johnson. Brother Roy & Arlene McGaha of Newport, TN.; Special sister-in-law Alma Jean Kivette of Sharps Chapel; Brother-in-law Paul & Elizabeth Johnson of Kokomo, Indiana; Special family members Fay & David Kingdon of St. Pete, Florida; several nieces and nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by her wonderful husband of almost 66 years Clint Johnson; Father & mother James I and Mary McGaha; step-mom Ollie McGaha; step sister Joyce McGaha; brothers; Tom, Jess, Hugh, Charles & Gene McGaha all of Newport, TN. Sister Evelyn Keck of Sharps Chapel. Father & mother-in-law Henry & Mamie (Peters) Johnson of Sharps Chapel.

Member of Sharps Chapel Christian Church. She requested a private grave side service at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Sharps Chapel.

A very special thanks to all the staff at Kindred Nursing Facility for their compassion and excellent care of our mother during the past months.
