Obituary for Anna Lou Dyer (Nicely)

Mrs. Anna Lou Dyer-age 85 of Washburn passed away Friday evening, May 20, 2016. She was a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Anna attended Lincoln Memorial University. She taught grades 1 thru 8 at Wooddale, a one room school in Union County. She had many fond memories of her students.
Most precious to her were her family. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, and her many friends. Anna had a quick wit and positive attitude, which served her well throughout her life. The family is thankful for her wonderful caregivers that became friends during her long illness.

Preceded in death by husband, Jesse Dyer; parents, Clarence and Minerva (Bailey) Nicely; sisters, Lucille Bailey, infant Edna Nicely and brother, C. R. Nicely.

Survivors: children, Sam (Gloria) Dyer, Larry (Lee Beth) Dyer, Randy Dyer, Robin Shelton, Beth (Joey) Cook, grandchildren, Renee (Ron) Hubbard, Dustin Dyer, Brandon Dyer, Caroline (Jay) Kehn, Felicia Cook, Kaitlin Dyer, Seth Shelton; great-granddaughter, Madeline Cook; brother, Hubert Nicely; sister, Christine Needham. Special friends and cousins, Dorothy Wyrick, June Hill and Betty Nicley. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Monday with funeral service to follow at 8 P.M. Monday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Richard Nicley officiating with music by Linda Nicley and The Williams Family. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 12 noon Tuesday to go in procession to Doyle Wayne Needham Cemetery, Powder Springs for interment at 1 P.M. Tuesday. Pallbearers: Dustin Dyer, Brandon Dyer, Steve Nicely, Martin Nicely, Adam Wolfenbarger, Colin West. Honorary Pallbearers: Lonnie Bates, Richie Nicley, Henry McGinnis, Tim McGinnis, Ronnie Munsey, Larry Brock, Scotty Brock.
