Obituary for Elvin Burnace Dalton

Mr. Elvin Burnace Dalton-age 70 of Washburn passed away peacefully Thursday, October 8, 2015 surrounded by his family and friends to enter into his eternal Heavenly home. He was a longtime member of Mount Eager Baptist Church. He was employed with Forrest Products and for several years as a foreman with the Grainger County Highway Department under Harve Collins and C. E. (Red) Northern. Born December 17, 1944 the son of the late Walter and Sarah Dalton. Also preceded in death by son, Michael Dalton; brothers, Aaron (Boot) Dalton and wife, Helen; Hubert Dalton and wife, Judy; Infant brother, Fernly Dalton; sister, Thelma Collins and husband, Lonnie; brother-in-law, Doyle Vittetoe; sister-in-law, Irene Dalton; parents-in-law, Jim and Ruth Clay; brother-in-law, Rev. Johnny Clay; sister-in-law, Rhonda Keegan. Survived by wife of 49 years, Lois Clay Dalton of Washburn; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mike Cameron of Rutledge; granddaughter, Katelyn Cope and husband, Luke of Washburn; grandchildren, Mykah and Kole Dalton. Sisters, Reba Wilmouth; Stelmo (Paul) Branson all of Washburn; brothers, Eldon Dalton and Bedford Dalton, both of Bean Station. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen (Roy) Williams, Janice (Rev. Gary) Donahew, Jimmy Clay, Tommy (Sharon) Clay, Linda (Jim) Greene and Ronnie (Lori) Clay, all of Washburn. Several nieces, nephews and friends. Burnace was a kind hearted person that loved his family and his church and he treasured his grandchildren with all his heart. Funeral services 3 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015, Mount Eager Baptist Church, Washburn, Rev. Gary Donahue, Rev. Rick Dalton, Rev. Stephen Williams officiating with music by the church choir and Jaxon Williams. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery on Tater Valley Road, Luttrell. Pallbearers: Tommy Clay, James Clay, III, Luke Cope, Verlin Dalton, Dennis Monroe, Joe Nicely, Mark Munsey and Roy Williams, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers: John Beeler, Ronnie Clay, James Clay, II, Verlin (Sheriff) Clay, Bill Clay, Lambert Atkins, Bill Lay, Olen Booker, Jim Greene, Roy Williams, Sr., Stanley Dalton, Earl Nicely, Mike Cameron, Martin Nicely, Tyler Williams, Bryce Williams and special friend, Ronnie Munsey. Special thanks to Dr. Borelli and Nurse Julie and the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center, New Market and the 3rd West nurses at Ft. Sanders and Tennova Hospice for the super care they gave to Dad. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
